Frequently Asked Questions

Please contact us if you have not found an answer to your questions.

What is your pricing?

Cookie Tin Tailors does not have a set price list. Many elements go into how difficult or easy the same alteration on different projects may be. We asses each project personally to only charge you for the cost of the work you need. Please visit our pricing page for a general idea of where your project may start.

Do you alter streetwear?

Yes! We are more than happy to help with any of your clothing projects. If we are unable to help we will be straight forward from the beginning. Our consultations are free, so bring that project in for us to take a look!

Do you hem jeans?

We are happy to shorten your jeans! But, we do not have the set-up to recreate the manufactured/distressed look to your hem.

Do you alter men's suits?

We specialize in women's clothing but do simple tailoring and repairs to menswear. If your alterations require recutting of collars, pockets, or other specialized areas we may direct you to other options.

Why might I be paying more in alterations than my garment costs?

We base our pricing on the time and experience needed to finish the alterations. Many budget retailers use fabrics and construction methods that reduce the garment cost but may add to the difficulty in altering. And while we are always happy to see someone get a good deal on what may have been an expensive purchase, a sale at the store or boutique does not transfer to the cost of alterations. If you are trying to be budget friendly we can discuss different options to lessen the financial burden of having clothes that fit properly!

Will you hem my curtains and fix my couch cushions?

No. We only work on clothing projects and are not set up properly for household furnishings.

Are you owned by Posh Bridal?

We are grateful to be the in-house tailors for Posh Bridal, but we are independently owned and will take projects from any retailer.
